Floatboxx & FOCer V4 Installation | Regular Pack in Stock XR Battery Box
This post showcases reference photos of a recent installation, using a Little FOCer V4 in a Floatboxx MLC enclosure, as well as a 20s2p P28A Regular battery pack into a stock XR battery box with an ENNOID XLITE V4 BMS.
Headlight Installation
Note that the headlight installation is mostly the same as has been described in an older article (VESC [DIY] One Wheel Lights | Arduino | Code by Mitch Lustig — The Board Garage) except this time, it has one extra wire. This wire is the OUT from the LED strip, back into the box, since that will daisy chain to the rear lights. So, it goes back into the box, and just connects right to the harness. I tried to show this in the photos.
Battery & BMS Installation
These reference photos show the 20s2p P28A “Regular” battery being installed into a clean stock XR battery box. The installation would be the same for the Extra Regular battery, which is the same configuration, but with P30B cells.
Note that the internal ridges are cut away to make a flat mounting spot. Also, the separator shelf is partially removed to make room for the battery pack wiring. This keeps abrasive pressure away from sensitive wiring, and NEEDS TO BE DONE.
The images below show the step by step process of material removal, and then the final results. Make sure to sand the cut areas to keep them smooth and non-abrasive.
