"The Manhasset" Black | Semi-Custom VESC Board Assembly
This is a semi-custom complete VESC based board, built on the “+XR” platform. Meant for multi-purpose riding, this board is at home on pavement as well as off-road trails. Fully loaded with the most tried and true parts on the hobbyist market, assembled with the most skill and highest attention to detail in the sport. Built from the ground up to ride like a dream, carve smoothly, and power its way up inclines and uphills, The Manhasset embodies its namesake by being a true Jack Of All Trades kind of board.
And, with a tilt remote installed already, this board can accommodate any incline, decline, or uneven terrain.
At its core is the Original ME4T Pack battery, giving the most range (22-28 miles) with the most reliable track record for long life, consistency, and durability. The VESC itself is the Little FOCer V4, the latest update to the most stable VESC design incorporating more stable power control, on board smart lighting programming, and a cooler running overall lifespan. Housed in a set of enclosures by The Float Life, the electronics remain sealed and protected.
The motor is a cleaned and refurbished XR Hypercore installed into a sleek Float Life MTE Hub with N48 magnets for more torque, and our in-house EZO Japanese Premium bearings for smooth operation. Fitted with an Enduro 555, this board will dig into dirt, and also allow for easy maneuvering for city pavement.
Custom wiring harness is made with the perfectly spec’d 14-core Floatboxx cable, with clean wire management and proper terminations done in the boxes, sealed tight between cable glands on the boxes.
The charge port is fused for protection. All motor bolts are checked and threadlocked, all external screws are standard XR spec. Float Life BANG bumpers installed, and our own custom footpads, The Extra Mediums, are also installed for a natural comfortable ride feel.
This board is configured and set up with the in-house “Mediocre Medium” tune profile, that gives you the illusion of an XR ride feel, but without the weakness at the motor. Lastly, a remote for remote tilt is already installed and configured, for when you want to take this board off-road or along any steep inclines or declines.
This is a full featured VESC board, ready to ride. Charger and board stand included.

After Sales Service
There is after-sales service offered with this board. As this is a custom assembly, photos and notes can be provided upon request. The build methods used for this board are consistent with the articles published on this site, as well as the content published on the shop’s YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/@theboardgarage)
For riders that simply want to have a board they can ride, the shop offers full after-sales service and repair in the event of failure or defects for 6 months after purchase. This covers the labor rates and parts that are needed for the repair. As per the Terms & Conditions of the shop (found at the banner at the top of the site), total liabilities will not exceed the value of the board. Should there be a parts failure within 6 months, the board may be sent in for diagnosis and repair. After the repair, it will be returned to the user in functional condition with the original shop configuration applied. After the 6 month period, repairs will be offered on a parts cost basis, where the labor rate is covered by the shop, and the cost of parts are charged to the user.
THIS AFTER SALES SERVICE DOES NOT APPLY TO THE BOARD IF THE BOARD IS MODIFIED, “UPGRADED”, WATER DAMAGED, CRASHED AND PARTS ARE DESTROYED, OR THE BOARD IS SUBJECT TO ABUSIVE CONDITIONS (EITHER TEMPERATURE CONDITIONS THAT WOULD CAUSE FAILURE, OR PHYSICALLY/ELECTRICALLY ABUSIVE CONDITIONS).

IN ORDER FOR RIGHT TO REPAIR TO ACTUALLY WORK, THE USER HAS TO HAVE REASONABLE STANDARDS OF PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEVICES THEY CHOOSE TO OWN AND WORK ON THEMSELVES.
Custom build electric skateboards are custom made, “DIY” style devices that are assembled from a combination of in-house produced and outside-sourced products and parts. The nature of these devices is inherently hazardous, as they are built of parts offered only as and to enthusiast hobbyist market users, and are not meant for widespread consumer electronics distribution. As a result of this, any part may fail due to manufacturing defects that are not detectible when the device is built, and may present themselves to the user during use. IT IS FOR THIS REASONS THAT ALL CUSTOM DEVICES AND ASSEMBLIES MUST BE TREATED WITH EXTREME CAUTION AT ALL TIMES, AND USED IN A WAY CONSISTENT WITH DANGEROUS EXTREME SPORTS EQUIPMENT AND EXPERIMENTAL POWER DEVICES. NEVER CHARGE DEVICES UNATTENDED OR OVERNIGHT. NEVER SUBECT DEVICES TO PHYSICAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, or ELECTRICAL ABUSE. DOING SO WILL VOID ANY AND ALL WARRANTY OF THE PARTS AND THE WORK OF ASSEMBLY. In commissioning and/or using a custom built board/assembly, you assume all risk and liability of its use, its charging, and the potential results of any component failing during use or otherwise. Custom boards/assemblies are warranted for their assembly work for a period of 6 months after purchase. During this time, defects in workmanship or parts will be serviced and repaired at no cost to the user. After 6 months, repairs are offered at the cost of the parts needed for the repair, with the labor rate covered by the shop.
